Socially Distance Neighborhood Clean-up

The Westgate Community Foundation was planning an organized neighborhood cleanup day that would coincide with Omaha Spring Cleanup, Earth Day, and generally everyone getting out and doing their spring cleaning.  The neighborhood cleanup day would conclude with an organized event in the park; get to know your neighbors, show off the amount of trash we collected, invite food trucks and show off some progress the Westgate Community Foundation has been working toward over the last several months.  

Covid-19, immediately brought those plans to a halt, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t still clean up Westgate.  It can be as simple as picking up trash in front of your house, your neighbor’s storm drain, or your block.  Many people are out walking at all times of the day; grab a grocery bag on your way out the door and help make Westgate look great for spring. If you are willing, we would love to see parks, public right-of-ways, business parking lots and our trails cleaned up as well.  Get your family out together and tackle an area of neighborhood that needs it!
